Christians in Nigeria have been encouraged to remain steadfast and hold on to their faith in spite of the current situations in the country particularly the hardship facing Nigerians.The encouragement was made by the Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bauchi State Chapter, Pastor Promise Yohanna while speaking at the annual revival service of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) held at the Wesley Methodist Church, Bauchi.Speaking on the theme: ‘More than Victorious’ with text drawn from Romans 8:37, the Clergyman said that the situation, no matter how difficult it is now, will soon fade away.
Promise Yohanna added that at critical moments such as this, Christians must remain focused on service to God and fervent in prayers for divine intervention by God.According to him, “The situation might seem so difficult and unbearable, as believers, we must not despair, we must not give up, Jesus Christ is busy sorting our case with God in heaven. Very soon, it shall be over.”He stressed, “Because God has fought and won the battle for us, we are more than Conquerors. The victory has been handed over to us, it now behooves on us to use it positively.
The CCN 2024 revival service was rounded up with thanksgiving and awards presentations to Christian personalities in Bauchi state for remarkable contributions to the Christian community.
Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bauchi, Reverend Abraham Damina Dimeus who was the Guest Speaker at the service, acknowledged the contributions of Christian political appointees in the present Administration.He stressed that most of them have performed irrefutably well and have not let the Christian community down, urging them to maintain their good works.Chairman of the CCN, Reverend Agbong Colins David, explained that the event was meant to encourage awardees, particularly government officials to continue with their good works and to excel in public service for the benefit of all.State Commissioner for Higher Education, Mrs. Lydia John Tsammani, leading the awardees, appreciated CCN and the entire Christian Community in the state for supporting them.She urged the Christian community to fully support the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed to facilitate more development projects that have direct bearing on the common man.
Lydia Tsammani praised Governor Bala Mohammed for appointing Christians into key positions in his cabinet, saying, the Governor has shown commitment to carrying everyone along irrespective of religious belief, adding that, it’s their duty as Christians to support him with fervent prayers for his success.
Backing the comments of one of the speakers, She admonished Christians on the need to speak up to be heard because voicing out in a sane, modest, and unprovoking manner can attract more Christian communities in the state.Highlights of the event were presentation of awards to different categories of persons for their immense contribution to society including Mrs Lydia John Tsamani, Commissioner of higher education, Reverend Dr. Abraham Damina Dimeus the CAN chairman in the state, Umar Sarikin Yara, the deputy director of Programs National Orientation Agency (NOA) Bauchi among others.The program was an annual Harvest and 2024 Thanksgiving, organized by the Bauchi State Chapter of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), tagged “More Than Victorious”.
