Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), led a joyous and spirit-filled New Year Thanksgiving service at the church’s headquarters in Lagos on January 1, 2025. The event marked the beginning of the year with heartfelt gratitude and fervent prayers for divine favor, peace, and prosperity in the coming months.

In an atmosphere of deep worship and celebration, thousands of RCCG members from across Nigeria and beyond gathered to honor God for His faithfulness in the previous year. The service was a powerful testament to God’s unchanging grace, as worshippers sang praises, shared testimonies, and offered prayers for the year ahead.

Pastor Adeboye, in his sermon, reflected on the goodness of God over the years and emphasized the importance of thanksgiving as a catalyst for greater blessings. He reminded the congregation that the key to unlocking God’s promises lies in a heart of gratitude and obedience. The pastor encouraged believers to focus on God’s unwavering promises, even in the face of challenges.

“God has brought us safely into 2025, and there is so much more ahead,” Pastor Adeboye said with deep conviction. “When we give thanks, we open the door for greater things to come. This is the year of God’s unmatched grace, favor, and open doors.”

The service included powerful moments of prayer, with Pastor Adeboye leading the congregation in intercessions for the nation, the church, and individual families. He prayed for peace and stability in Nigeria, calling on divine intervention to heal the land and promote unity and prosperity.

The jubilant atmosphere was palpable as members danced in thanksgiving, expressing their joy for the new year and the opportunities it holds. Special prayers were also offered for individuals and families who had encountered difficulties in the past year, with the church declaring 2025 as a season of restoration and breakthrough.

As the service concluded, Pastor Adeboye gave a final blessing over the congregation, declaring that God’s hand would be evident in every area of life in the year ahead. The jubilant worshippers, many of whom had traveled long distances to be part of the event, left with renewed hope and anticipation for the year.

The RCCG’s New Year Thanksgiving service is a significant event for the church, which continues to grow as a global beacon of faith. With Pastor Adeboye’s leadership, the church remains committed to encouraging believers to live lives marked by gratitude, faith, and divine expectation.
