Pastor Chris Okotie Opens Prayer Initiative for the Needy in 2025

In a powerful move to address the pressing needs of the vulnerable, Pastor Chris Okotie, founder of the Household of God Church, launched a new prayer initiative aimed at supporting the underprivileged and marginalized communities in Nigeria. The initiative, titled “Prayer for the Needy,” was officially inaugurated on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the church’s headquarters in Lagos.

Pastor Okotie, renowned for his philanthropic efforts and spiritual leadership, emphasized the importance of divine intervention in the lives of those struggling with poverty, sickness, and hardship. During his sermon, he called on the congregation to pray not only for the material needs of the poor but also for their emotional and spiritual well-being.

“This is a year of divine restoration,” Okotie declared. “We are called to be our brothers’ keepers, and we must lift our voices in prayer for those who have no one to help them. As we intercede on their behalf, God will provide, heal, and restore the hope that many have lost.”

The prayer service was attended by hundreds of church members, with representatives from various charitable organizations also present. Okotie urged the congregation to contribute both prayerfully and materially, pointing out that the initiative would include regular prayer meetings, food distribution, and healthcare support for the most vulnerable.

The “Prayer for the Needy” initiative is expected to expand across Nigeria, with plans for mobile prayer teams to visit rural areas where access to help is limited. Additionally, Okotie announced the establishment of a dedicated fund to assist with medical bills, educational scholarships, and entrepreneurial programs designed to empower the less fortunate.

With an unwavering commitment to social responsibility, Pastor Okotie’s new initiative aims to serve as a beacon of hope for many in Nigeria, reinforcing his long-standing legacy of compassion and service to the community.

The Household of God Church plans to continue its outreach with further collaborations with other faith-based organizations and humanitarian groups to maximize the impact of this prayer movement.

For more information on how to get involved or donate, the church has set up a dedicated website where members of the public can contribute to the initiative.
