The sound of joyful singing echoed through the Oakwood Town Square Sunday evening as hundreds of residents came together for a special outdoor worship gathering titled “United in Praise.” The event, hosted by the Oakwood Faith Coalition, marked one of the community’s largest multi-congregational worship services in years.

Families, local choirs, and worship teams from various churches filled the park, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration. Smiling volunteers offered programs, children waved colorful banners, and musicians tuned their instruments as the crowd continued to grow.

Pastor Daniel Reyes, one of the event organizers, described the gathering as a powerful symbol of unity.
“At a time when division seems louder than ever, worship has the ability to bring people back together,” he said. “Tonight, we aren’t separated by denomination or background we’re one community lifting one voice.”

The service featured upbeat praise songs, heartfelt testimonials, and a moment of collective prayer for the town’s schools, leaders, and families. Local resident Maria Gentry, who attended with her children, said the event reminded her of the strength that comes from community faith.
“It felt like hope was alive again,” she shared. “Seeing everyone worship side by side was truly beautiful.”

As the sun set, the crowd joined in a final chorus, their voices rising in harmony across the square. Organizers announced plans to hold “United in Praise” several times a year, citing the overwhelming turnout and renewed sense of togetherness.

For many who attended, the evening served as a reminder that worship not only uplifts the spirit it strengthens the bonds of community.
